about

The Voids We All Long For experiments with electronics/noise/ambient/glitch/industrial/drone and folk. And whatever other genre influences you may hear in there, I guess.

The album is chiefly about black metal, mental illness, life. It's a conceptual story, mostly told through instrumentals, with a few lyrically-based pieces to outline story arcs. Piece together what little conclusions you will; the story has its own meaning to me, one that I've told myself from the lyrics I've written, the music I've created and the titles I've chosen. But you can make it your own. There are segments that lay the foundations for the events, but what happens and what ties it all together is up to you.

So, after around eight hours of recorded work and seventeen unused tracks, here is the one hour of music that made it to the end, and formed The Voids We All Long For.

"The Voids We All Long For is a remarkable example of finding one’s voice through a love of music, creating something stunning, and finding one's self in the process. In searching for an all-encompassing void, Lost Salt Blood Purges has found depth, and it’s worth looking further." - Tristan Jones

Review: www.sputnikmusic.com/review/66543/Lost-Salt-Blood-Purges-The-Voids-We-All-Long-For

"It's harsh, uncompromising, individual, dense, stylistically esoteric, and easily one of the most beautiful things you're gonna hear all year." - William Lim

Track Name: Void I: Noctambulant Journeys
I’m long past the point where I’ve disappointed my parents. Deep nights of foggy, smoking, dense, duplicating regrets consume my cold feet as they hug shag carpet. It’s the fourth time I’ve spun Under a Funeral Moon and I’ve never felt less alienated than I have after a sixth glass and that last, deep drag, and my eyes glued to the wood-panelled walls in a suffocating basement below aforementioned disappointed parents.

I lost my idea of brilliance the night that she broke her ankle. Not that it wasn’t an amazing night, but everything that’s come from that night onward feels inverted. Mysteriis, muscle, tension. There’s only so much running you can do even with a kick of adrenaline and the hand of the one you love in your hand.
Track Name: It Froze Me (The Mountain Goats cover)
I saw you in the blazing light
when the lotus caught fire
in the middle of the night
it froze me
it froze me

I saw you coming closer real slow
you grabbed hold
i let go
yeah I saw you in the blazing light
I saw you
I saw you alright
it froze me
it froze me
it froze me
it froze me
Track Name: Void III: Bones Will Blow In Pink Light
There’s blood under my skin,
cut into it to let more in,
but then it all comes tumbling out
a clumsy reflection of myself.

There’s ways I’ve never been:
in control, and never having to explain.
Can veins join at the ends?
I’ll open up and let you in.

Listening to Göetia lying still,
letting red obscura slowly spill.
Your hand’s a swallowed pill,
it grabs my heart and shakes me near to Hell.
Track Name: Æthers
He never spoke much about himself or of anything he loved. He wore a worn leather jacket and his combat boots always left larger indents in the carpet than my small feet had. He’d blow smoke at the wall, and then he’d look at me, and then he’d look away. Once, in a moment of clarity, if you could call it clarity, listening to The Return, he said Bathory saved his life. I didn’t reply. I guess that’s what he loved about me, or at least why he stuck around.
